2008 is Great!

April already?

Hello Holy Hill Family,

It may look like its been a while since I posted but actually I sent a few news items that did not post for some reason..go figure. Hopefully, this update will.

2008 has been phenonmenal!

In January, I participated with the Intercessory Team at the Reclaiming 7 Mountains Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, January 24 - 26. God moved in a big way.

In February, I spent two-days at North Greenville University in Greenville, SC for a film screening and speaking engagement. Over 300 students and faculty attended the Screening of "Mattie, Johnny and Smooth White Stones: Part III" on Feb. 12, and I was the Chapel Speaker the following morning, Feb. 13. I delivered a message entitled, "The Role of Christianity in the Underground Railroad Movement" to an audience of 2,000 +. It was a blessing sharing at the campus and I received many warm words of appreciation and accolades. God is good!

In March, I traveled back to the beautiful Barbados for the third time! This time I was invited to share Co-Hosting duties at the 7th Annual Flame Awards with legendary Gospel Icon, Dr. Bobby Jones. The 7th Annual Flame Awards took place on Saturday, March 8. An audience of over 1,000 beautiful people celebrated the great talents of Gospel soloists and groups, and dance ministries during the 3 hour ceremony. Praise Academy of Dance won Artiste of the Year. It was a blessing to Co-Host the event with Dr. Jones and Celebrate the Arts for Jesus with my Bajan friends!

And now 'tis Spring!
As you can see, this year is off to a great start for Holy Hill Productions. We are currently in post-production for our first documentary film, "This Far By Faith: Barbados Centenarians." Stay tunned..

In HIM,

Cassandra

Cassandra Hollis Invited to Join Panel at International Black DocuFilm Fest

Atlanta, GA September 2007. Last month Award-winning filmmaker Cassandra
Hollis taught a filmmaking workshop in Barbados. On Labor Day weekend, Hollis
traveled to Ontario, Canada for the World Premiere of the third installment
of her short film series about the Underground Railroad. With a focus on
Family friendly and Faith-based films, this innovative indie filmmaker found
a global audience. On Friday, September 14, 2007, Cassandra will be a panelist at the International Black DocuFest in Atlanta, Georgia at the High Museum of Art Walter C. Hill Auditorium located at 1280 Peachtree St., at 6pm, for a conversation with other international filmmakers. The event is free to the public.

Hollis gave students an opportunity to work with her on a real film project
during the filmmaking workshop that was part of the international arts
symposium and conference in Barbados.

Holy Hill Productions recently completed a trilogy of films about a slave couple’s escape on the Underground Railroad. Mattie, Johnny and Smooth White Stones: Parts I & II were both selected as Programs of the National Park Service Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program. Mattie, Johnny and Smooth White Stones: Part III continued the freedom seeking couple’s journey of escape into Canada and features an actual Black Settlement, The Elgin Settlement. Hollis said the story of the Underground Railroad is not complete without including Canada’s
role.

Cassandra will discuss these projects and other issues related to international
filmmaking with other panelists at the International Black Docufest. For more information contact: info@holyhillproductions.com
